For this project I had no idea at first what I wanted to do. As a thinking exercise I started writing down things that were so outrageously false that it would be easy to disprove. Alot of it was based on my own preference. I was not trying to do anything too offensive or even focus on that area. I decided that I would just use whatever came to mind first, no matter what it was. I am using the organic film without any filters or effects because i believe that performance pieces should be vulnerable. This did not take alot of planning. This is probably the easiest video I have ever completed. I felt as if I filled the necessary requirements and also put myself on the spot. I wanted to do something private because it allowed me to have a little more control in terms of what happens. I want to save any public interactions for another idea. As far this video goes, all I am trying to accomplish is bring up things that I am aware of and then give my take on them.
This is an interesting first experimentation with performance art through which you ask your viewers to consider truth and trust. I enjoy that you fluctuate between lighthearted and obvious issues such as "I am wearing pants" to serious and controversial issues such as "global warming is real." While watching the video, I find myself questioning the same issues and fluctuating between agreement and disagreement with the performer.
